Job Description

The Senior Payroll Manager oversees and supervises the organization’s payroll functions, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of payroll management including the routine payroll processing, tax and benefits compliance and reporting, and SOX compliance
  • Analyze payroll processes and controls, identify efficiencies, drive change, and manage priorities.
  • Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
  • Contributes to the strategic direction of the company based on internal and industry knowledge.
  • Responsible for developing and communicating team or functional vision and goal.
  • Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
  • Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.
  • Leads team through internal performance skills; Coaching, Conflict Resolution, and Problem Solving.
  • Provides daily, monthly, and annual feedback through internal goal setting and review process and annual performance meetings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field required.
  • 5+ years experience related to Payroll Management, including leadership responsibilities.
  • Experience partnering, influencing, and building relationships with business leaders virtually.
  • Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Excellent customer service and employee relation skills and abilities
