Major Duties
Under general supervision, the Interpreter facilitates the integration of deaf/hard-of-hearing professionals in the classroom and other instructional settings by interpreting the spoken or signed communication (English -American Sign Language). The incumbent employs voice-to-sign and sign-to-voice interpretation to assist deaf professionals and their colleagues to participate fully in academic and related functions; provides high level interpreting services in complex situations such as advanced level classes, meetings, discussions, seminars, conferences, and/or a variety of platform settings; uses highly technical or specialized subject matter, concepts, theory and vocabulary; provides services which may involve highly technical or specialized subject matter that require higher levels of skill and more advanced and fluent interpreting techniques; and performs other duties as assigned.

Over its 31 year history, the College has sought to provide the highest quality Liberal Arts education in the field of Social & Behavioral Sciences while at the same time providing students with sound applied and professional training. The college has 150 full-time faculty members and an enrollment of approximately 6,500 undergraduate students and 700 graduate students and is comprised of the departments of Africana Studies, Anthropology, Criminology & Justice Studies, Geography and Environmental Studies, History, Political Science, Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, Urban Studies and Planning and 3 interdisciplinary programs. The college offers 10 baccalaureate programs and 9 master's degree programs. Additionally, there are 5 centers and institutes in the college including the Center for Southern California Studies, the Center for Geographical Studies and the Dubois Hamer Institute for Academic Achievement. The College also sponsors the CSUN in D.C. Internship program and maintains a partnership with the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico (UNAM). Responsibilities
Under general supervision of the Dean of the College, the Director of Finance and Operations assists with administrative planning, allocation and management of budgetary, human, and physical resources, facilitation of the enrollment management process, and coordination of departmental support staff. The incumbent performs budgetary responsibilities which include planning and preparing the annual College budget, recommending allocations for faculty positions and operating expenses for departments and programs; supervises the receipt, spending, and reconciliation of all funds for the College including the State General Fund and funds from Extended Learning, Lottery, State Trust, Corporation, Foundation, and other budgetary sources; is responsible for preparing year-end reconciliations and reports and providing advice and recommendations to the College regarding fiscal issues; serves as a liaison to the Office of Human Resources in all staff personnel matters, and advises the Dean, department chairs, faculty, and staff regarding the application of collective bargaining agreements, employee evaluations, grievances, disciplinary actions, classification, promotion, and staff development issues; assists in determining and monitoring the utilization of instructional, research, non-capacity, and administrative space; recommends the allocation of lecture space and recommends necessary reallocations; recommends policies regarding space utilization; coordinates College use of information technology and IT support infrastructure; advises on equipment expenditures; serves as a liaison regarding facilities, communications, and space matters; monitors the registration and enrollment process; represents the College on university-wide committees; assists the Dean on a variety of administrative projects; serves as a liaison to various campus administrative offices; and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Graduation from a four-year College or university with concentration in finance or business is required; Master's degree in Business, Finance, or related field is strongly preferred. Five years of progressively responsible professional experience in fiscal management and reporting with at least two years' experience in facility operations and administration in a managerial role. Higher education administrative fiscal experience and experience in use of enterprise systems such as PeopleSoft/Oracle to manage finance, human resources, and student enrollment functions is highly desirable.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, fiscal management, human resources, facility operations and problem resolution is extremely essential. Ability to reason logically, independently implement administrative decisions, and supervise others. Ability to perform accurately in a detail-oriented environment. Ability to work collaboratively and supportively with college and university colleagues. Excellent communication skills with the ability to negotiate and establish priorities to achieve results and expedite projects. Ability to work independently and to develop and implement operational strategies in resolving problems. Ability to analyze and interpret university policies and procedures and effectively interact with all levels of staff and administration and handle situations of a sensitive and confidential nature.

Salary is commensurate with knowledge, skills, and experience. The University offers excellent fringe benefits.
The anticipated HIRING RANGE is up to $103,008 per year dependent upon qualifications and experience.
