Job Description
CS Group Canada is looking for an Expert Automotive Aerodynamics Engineer to support our clients in developing the aerodynamics of their next-generation vehicles. This key role will focus on optimizing exterior aerodynamics to enhance performance, energy efficiency, and consumption, tailored to the specific drive cycles of robotaxis.
- Lead aerodynamics development for exterior surfaces and define active aerodynamic enablers.
- Guide CFD engineers, design studio teams, and cross-functional departments in achieving optimal aerodynamic performance.
- Lead aerodynamic design efforts and provide strategic recommendations to company leadership.
- Define and direct wind tunnel testing strategies to validate aerodynamic improvements.
- Educate internal teams on the role of aerodynamics in vehicle architecture and performance.
- Collaborate with the energy team to optimize aerodynamics for real-world energy consumption in robotaxi applications.
- Provide technical leadership in tire aerodynamics and aero drag interactions with cooling airflow.
- Recommend shutter designs to balance cooling efficiency and aerodynamic drag.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
- Extensive expertise in automotive aerodynamics fundamentals.
- Proven experience leading vehicle aerodynamics development, preferably at a major OEM.
- Strong background in CFD analysis, wind tunnel testing, and active aerodynamics.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and translate aerodynamic insights into vehicle design decisions.
- Experience in aero-energy optimization for electric or autonomous vehicles.
- Strong knowledge of NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness) reduction techniques in electric powertrains.
- Experience with thermal modeling and efficiency optimization in electric propulsion systems.
- Familiarity with automotive industry standards and regulations related to electric vehicles.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to optimize motor performance and efficiency.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
