Job Description
As part of the Materials team of OHB, you will have the following responsibilities:
- Your focus will be the engineering consultancy, technical risk mitigation and assurance concerning materials and processes applied in the next generations of optical instruments;
- You will join an international team also responsible for the assessment of material and process suitability regarding their application in the space environment;
- You will review and assess manufacturing, Inspection and test methods and procedures for building and qualifying space equipment and systems;
- You will be part of the technical support teams in case of non-conformances or proposal evaluation;
- You will regularly take part in or conduct technical re-views regarding materials and processes for the building blocks of future, smart space solutions.
Qualifications
You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience:
- Phd/Master in Materials science, Metallurgy, Mechanical engineering, Physics, Chemistry or a comparable qualification;
- Ideally several years’ experience in the area of Materials and Processes, Optical engineering, Electronics manufacturing, Quality Assurance, or Product Assurance in the space industry;
- Experience in aerospace, especially in MMPP (materials, mechanical parts & processes) related activities;
- Interdisciplinary mindset, independent and forward-looking way of working;
- Flexibility, a high sense of responsibility, as well as the ability to work in an international team;
- Knowledge of the applicable ECSS-ST-Q-70 standards will be considered an advantage;
- Experience with optical instruments will be considered an advantage;
- Confident personality and good negotiation skills;
- Willingness to travel on business;
- Structured, goal-oriented and self-dependent work;
- Team player with excellent communication skills;
- Fluency in English is mandatory; knowledge of German, French or other European language is an advantage.
Additional Information
This job is located in Bremen, Germany, and will have a duration of 6 to 12 months .
