HE Space has joined forces with CS Group to lead the engineering and digital space market in Europe and to provide highly skilled consulting.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

As part of the team working on GAIA mission, you will have the following responsibilities:

• Working  on an astronomical precision-astrometry mission developing;
• Maintaining software and algorithms in a multi-national environment;
• Developing new software to support space mission needs;
• Maintaining existing project software;
• All phases of the software cycle: specifications, preliminary designs, development, integration, testing and final release of production software.

Skills & Experience

You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience:

• Master’s degree or equivalent qualification in Computer science, Space Systems Engineering, Physics or related specialization;
• Experienced Numerical JAVA programmer;
• Knowledge of Gaia or at least astronomy;
• Experience with Linux;
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to present and effectively communicate quality system processes;
• Results orientated and good relationship management;
• Good organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work in a diverse team environment;
• Fluency in English is mandatory; knowledge of another European language is an advantage.

 This job is located in Madrid, Spain. The role with a temporary contract until the end of the year.
