Job Description

Today we are looking for a Software Safety Specialist to join our functional safety and certification office under the Autonomous Systems Business Line.

The functional safety and certification office provides support in all the phases of developing a functional safety relevant project, implying the usage of functional safety standards. The group is comprised of functional safety experts and professionals certified by TÜV. It is a multidisciplinary group with system, software, hardware, verification, safety and cybersecurity engineers to tackle any functional safety challenges from the Autonomous cars and Air Mobility industries.

The main responsabilitiy for the Software Safety Specialist  will be to contribute to functional safety projects for critical embedded systems, following ISO26262.

Responsabilities:

As part of the functional safety team:

  • Prepare software safety analysis (DFA, SW-FMEA) in accordance with ISO 26262 and IEC 61508 for complex systems, HW and SW in view of improving the design proposing safe and secure implementations.

  • Establish plans for compliance with the applicable functional safety standards. 

  • Contribute to the development and release of functional safety work products such as technical safety concept and software requirements. 

  • Collaborate closely with the Software development and Testing teams to improve safety of the products.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Software Engineering. 

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in safety-critical domains (automotive, aerospace, medical, nuclear). 

  • Knowledge of ISO 26262 or other similar safety standards: IEC 61508, EN50128.

  • Experience in a position requiring excellent understanding of embedded software as well as the larger system picture. 

  • Full system and software V development life-cycle experience (requirements, design, implementation, verification and testing). 

  • Knowledge of functional safety tool such as ANSYS Medini.

  • Proficient in English or French (speaking and writing) .

  • Curiosity, autonomy, pro-activity and ability to find innovative solutions and compromises.
