Job Description

We represent a food & beverage manufacturing facility that prioritizes safety, compliance, and a proactive culture. We’re hiring a Safety Specialist who will partner with plant leadership to build, maintain, and continuously improve safety programs  from audits and training to incident investigations and prevention.

Key Responsibilities

  • Help review, revise and implement plant-level safety policies and procedures to meet regulatory (local, state, federal) and corporate standards.
  • Work with operations and plant teams to assess current work practices, identify hazards, and advise on safety improvements.
  • Manage incident reporting and investigations: determine root cause(s), assign corrective actions, and track closure to prevent recurrence.
  • Develop and deliver regular (monthly) safety training for all plant associates; conduct specialized or refresher training as needed.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness and continuously refine the safety training program.
  • Conduct routine audits and inspections to ensure compliance with internal safety programs and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with production, maintenance, and management to embed safety culture into daily operations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an industrial manufacturing environment (assembly, machine shop, or comparable)
  • Supervisory or team-lead experience in a high-volume, fast-paced facility
  • Hands-on experience conducting safety audits, inspections, or incident investigations
  • Prior experience delivering safety training or coaching associates on safety protocols
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification (strongly preferred)
  • Strong communication skills: ability to interface with floor staff, leadership, and cross-functional teams

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

  • Bachelor’s degree (or related) in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, or related field
  • Additional safety credentials such as CPE, CSP, or CIH — a plus but not required
  • Prior experience in food & beverage or high-volume manufacturing plants (preferred)
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance, plant-level safety documentation, and safety-management systems
