Job Description
The Project Controls Manager will lead cost control, scheduling, and risk management for complex capital design and construction projects in biopharma, pharmaceutical, and advanced technology markets. This role ensures projects meet CRB’s high standards for quality, safety, and client satisfaction, while maintaining profitability and schedule integrity.
Responsibilities
- Cost Management & Forecasting:
- Develop and maintain project budgets, monitor expenditures, and manage change orders.
- Implement earned value management (EVM) and financial performance tracking.
- Scheduling & Progress Control:
- Create and update integrated project schedules using tools like Primavera P6 or MS Project.
- Perform variance analysis and time impact studies to ensure schedule adherence.
- Risk & Performance Analysis:
- Identify and mitigate project risks through proactive planning and reporting.
- Provide data-driven insights to support decision-making and resource allocation.
- Reporting & Communication:
- Prepare monthly reports on cost, schedule, and performance metrics for internal and client review.
- Collaborate with Project Managers, discipline leads, and clients to maintain transparency.
- Leadership & Mentorship:
- Guide project control staff and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Coordinate the efforts of project controls staff on larger, multi-discipline projects to ensure alignment and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with CRB’s quality and safety standards across all deliverables.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- 8+ years in project controls for large-scale design and construction projects, preferably in life sciences or advanced technology sectors.
- Proven ability to manage cost, schedule, and risk in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in project management software (Primavera P6, MS Project, PMWeb).
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to lead teams and collaborate across disciplines.
- PMP or equivalent project management certification.
