Job Description
CRB is seeking a Building Analytics Consultant to support our growing sustainability practice with a specialized focus on building analytics. This role is ideal for a technically skilled professional with experience in energy modeling and sustainability analysis who is passionate about applying data-driven strategies to complex, high-performance buildings.
As a Building Analytics Consultant, you will contribute to CRB’s building analytics capabilities across energy, carbon, water, and waste domains. You will work under the guidance of a Lead Building Analytics Specialist and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate analytics into project strategies. This role supports sustainability efforts for clients with aggressive ESG goals, particularly in technically demanding environments such as pharmaceutical manufacturing, laboratories, and GMP facilities.
You will assist in interpreting analytics results, contribute to sustainability narratives, and support documentation for green building rating systems such as LEED. The ideal candidate will have experience with a variety of energy modeling tools and a strong understanding of building systems and sustainability frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
Support building analytics efforts across energy, carbon, water, and waste domains.
Utilize standard building analytics tools to conduct sustainability assessments and integrate findings into project documentation.
Assist in interpreting modeling results and translating them into actionable design strategies.
Coordinate with internal and external team members to meet green building rating system requirements and assist with submission preparation.
Develop basic sustainability narratives and contribute to project documentation.
Conduct site visits and field assessments with guidance to support sustainability implementation.
Participate in client-facing workshops and charrettes as a supporting team member.
Assist in developing internal training materials and presentations.
Contribute to sustainability road mapping.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Architecture (with strong analytics focus) from an accredited institution.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in sustainability consulting, building analytics, or related fields.
Experience with energy modeling software such as IESVE, EnergyPlus, OpenStudio, and ability to work independently
Familiarity with sustainability frameworks and certification processes, including LEED.
Familiarity with sustainability-related codes and standards (e.g., ASHRAE 90.1, 62.1, 189.1).
Working knowledge of building systems and sustainability integration.
Ability to read and interpret architectural and MEP drawings.
Strong communication skills and ability to interface with clients and external partners.
Preferred Qualifications
PE, CEM, BEMP, or other HVAC-focused professional credential.
Proficiency in Rhino and Grasshopper with experience with Ladybug and similar tools.
Experience in Life Sciences (Pharmaceutical, Biotech, Laboratory) or Food & Beverage industry projects.
Experience supporting sustainability programming and master planning efforts including decarbonization.
