Job Description
The Regional Director, Procurement must be an energetic and self-motivated individual who demonstrates the passion for providing leadership, client development and business growth. Driving a team to meet client/project needs, while maintaining our culture, and delivering exceptional project results will be essential. This role requires a strong focus on market understanding and developing strategic relationships with new and existing clients, as well as and equipment and technology suppliers. The Leader should be able to demonstrate flexibility in working with a variety of key stakeholders both inside and outside the organization to meet regional business goals.
The Regional Director, Procurement is expected to spend approximately 60% of their time focused on managing relationships with key and core clients, key suppliers and expanding our portfolio in the Life Sciences and F+B markets – and roughly 40% of their time leading others and ensuring project performance aligns with business KPIs. The Regional Director, Procurement will report directly to the Regional Vice President, but will also coordinate with other Operational Leaders to coordinate business activities and ensure the region maintains the appropriate alignment with overall company goals.
Responsibilities include:
- Responsible for Team / Project Performance in line with Regional Business Plan Goals
- Achieve Regional Team Revenue and Profit goals
- Coordinate with peers to manage regional workload
- Respond to RFP’s in a timely manner while offering a valve added proposition
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues or disputes that may arise
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand their procurement needs and requirements
- Stay abreast of market trends, economic factors, and regulatory changes that may impact procurement
- Oversee the procurement process, including requisition, sourcing, purchasing, submittal approval and transition to project team to track delivery
- Manage Group Leads and Key Team resources with a focus on People development
- Interface with Operations Team for consistent use of Project Execution delivery methods
- Coordinate with Regional Director of BD / AM on Market Focus, Trends, and developing New Solutions
- Ensure and develop a comprehensive and competitive subcontractor/supplier bidders list in all office
- Identify and evaluate potential vendors and suppliers based on quality, price, and reliability
- Interface, coordinate and align with the Senior Director of Construction
- Manage Core / Key Clients along with growing New Client Portfolio
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with internal and external stakeholders
- Experience managing and issuance of bi-weekly updates of all procurement tracking logs
- Develop winning Procurement Strategies and provide Leadership to Project Execution Teams
- Lead and mentor the procurement team, providing guidance and support to achieve departmental goals and ensure a great Client experience
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize cost savings and operational efficiency.
- Leading with the assistant from the Project Execution Team market conditioning for upcoming projects

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Business, related field or relevant industry experience
- Minimum 15 years experience in strategic purchasing / project management
- Preferred Certification in Procurement or Supply Chain Management (e.g., CSCP, CPSM)
- Strong business management, sales, developmental and interpersonal skills
- Strong project management skills and excellent analytical abilities
- Knowledge of key supply base within served markets, contract strategies, and risk management
- Hands on professional with proven track record of managing a team
- Knowledge of contract law, subcontractor and supplier management
- Ability to negotiate subcontracts and agreements with subcontractors and suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions
- Deep understanding of supply chain management principles
- Experience in expediting CAPEX equipment during challenging supply chain conditions
- Experience managing and developing talent and teams
- Technical proficiency in commonly specified equipment for life science and biopharma industries
