Job Description

The EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) Manager of Systems and Processes is responsible for overseeing and implementing environmental, health, and safety programs and processes within the EHS Central Team and in support of regional and GSO activities. This role involves developing, maintaining and continuously improving our systems and processes to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, identifying and mitigating potential hazards, measuring and communicating risk, and promoting a culture of safety and environmental performance throughout the company. This position requires strong leadership, organizational and communication skills, as well as a deep understanding of EHS performance criteria, risk assessment, data management and analytics.

This position is Hybrid and can be performed out of any of CRB's US locations.

Responsibilities

  • Act as SME for CRB EHS Management Systems
  • Oversight of EHS business processes and systems for continuous improvement and risk management
  • Development and Upkeep - Written policies, programs, procedures, permit systems, planning templates (project execution, emergency response, etc.), audit and inspection systems, best practices, training materials, newsletters, company annual report content
  • Support the execution and maintenance of the portfolio of all global EHS standards documents; lead the end-to-end process for EHS Standards periodic revision and variance process
  • Ownership of EHS audit processes and member of audit team
  • Oversight of risk measurements (KPI) at Pre-Qual, Pre-Mob, and Project planning for EHS
  • Scoping and maintenance of company EHS training requirements
  • Creation of EHS procedures, in the ProMap system, for field EHS staff and other CRB personnel implementing procedures
  • Data management/platform management – data collection and analysis from HammerTech and other sources. Tracking and data management includes:
    • Incident and Injury Statistics (CRB and Partners)
    • Incident Reports
    • KPI and project EHS risk
    • Company OSHA 300 Logs
    • Notices of Violation
    • Safety-related Work Permits
    • Pre-task Plans (PTP)
    • Safety Observation Reports (SOR)
    • Training records/competency documentation (Competent Persons)
    • Corrective Action Plans (CAP)
    • Various environmental site documents (e.g. SWPP)
    • Audit and Inspection Reports
    • Business Partner EMR data
    • Sustainability Targets
    • Non-hazardous waste tracking
  • SharePoint site upkeep, management reports, website content for EHS and Sustainability data
  • Developing responses to customer inquiries and reactive needs (RFIs, RFQ’s, corrective action, sustainability data, etc.)
  • Establishing improved systems for trade partner/supplier performance, pre-qual and re-quals, Corrective Action Plan (CAP) reviews, collection of competency verification information for Competent Persons
  • Establishing feedback loops for inputs/feedback to design teams for constructability
  • Sustainability – measurements and tracking, client responses, policy improvements
  • Collaborate with the EHS Team to refine and align CRB EHS Systems and Processes
  • Coordinate and collaborate with the team to develop and enhance environmental, occupational safety, employee health, industrial hygiene, and related policies guiding the company's interests.
  • Provide guidance and advice to ensure proactive implementation of EHS compliance programs and strategies to reduce incidents. 
  • Implement safety and environmental management systems to minimize accidents, injuries, property loss, and ensure environmental compliance.
  • Foster strategic business partnerships to facilitate collaborative development and implementation of EHS processes and workflows across all locations.
  • Oversee the continuous improvement of incident prevention methods.
  • Advise senior leadership and serve as an EHS subject matter expert in matters related to proposed regulations impact by monitoring EHS regulatory landscape and evaluating changes using internal and external tools.
  • Track KPIs and oversee internal, external, and regulatory reporting as necessary, such as OSHA, ISN, etc.
  • Evaluate CRB's risk and maintain records of insurance policies and claims for workers' comp, auto, and property claims.
  • Establish a calendar of events, compliance cycles, schedules, reporting and tracking as needed.  
  • Aid management and supervisors in investigating incidents and developing measures to prevent recurrences.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of safety regulations.
  • Travel domestically approximately 20% per year with the possibility of limited international travel
  • Conduct activities in a safe and healthy manner in accordance with established safety and company requirements

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.  Degree in Occupational Safety, Health, and/or Environmental, Business Management, Engineering, or other relevant degrees.
  • 7 years of relevant work experience
  • Strong organizational, planning and management systems experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • ASP, CSP, CIH, CFPS or CHMM certification
  • OSHA 30 Certification
  • Formal studies and/or experience in the field of program/business process management preferred.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and data management/analytical skills to evaluate data and challenge results.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to confidently present complex information.
  • Excellent tact and diplomacy in the ability to partner with all levels of management, from field to executive management. Must have the ability to influence processes in a matrix organization.
  • Team player and self-starter with the ability to complete work assignments with little supervision.

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Experience with HammerTech or other EHS data management platforms
