Job Description

The Office Lead Estimator will report to the Regional Lead Estimator, Regional VP of Operations, and Corporate Estimating Manager. Office Lead Estimators will cultivate the workload for the office, lead estimates, delegate estimates to Senior or Project Lead Estimators as required by workload, establish execution strategies for estimates, communicate staffing and support needs to the Regional Lead Estimator and Estimating Manager, review estimates for accuracy and quality, manage collection of historical data for work executed by their office, maintain relationships with key trade partners within their territory, and prepare labor proposals for estimating service. Office Lead Estimators must be able to conceptually estimate projects within CRB’s core markets, as well as manage and execute detailed estimates when required by business unit needs.

Responsibilities

  • Cultivate the workload for the office, lead estimates, delegate estimates to Senior or Project Lead Estimators as required by workload
  • Establish execution strategies for estimates, communicate staffing and support needs to the Regional Lead Estimator and Estimating Manager
  • Review estimates for accuracy and quality
  • Manage collection of historical data for work executed by their office
  • Maintain relationships with key trade partners within their territory and prepare labor proposals for estimating service
  • Conceptually estimate projects within CRB’s core markets, as well as manage and execute detailed estimates when required by business unit needs

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of ten years of multi-discipline estimating or design-build lead estimating experience, or a combination of either with design-build engineering experience preferred
  • Previous management experience with the following types of projects: Life Science Projects; Industrial Projects; Commercial Projects

Additional Qualifications

  • Individual must be self-motivated and possess strong communication/interpersonal skills
  • Able to work effectively and make decisions under tight deadlines
  • Possess conceptual and detailed estimating skills
  • Understand project logistics and project schedules. Understand, contribute to, and/or develop Work
  • Breakdown Structures required for project execution.
  • Able to organize, plan and manage multiple activities and personnel (estimators and other supporting staff) to accomplish desired results
  • Experience with the following types of projects: Life Science Projects; Industrial Projects; Commercial Projects
  • Ability to work independently without supervision as well as part of a team
  • Understanding standard construction details and drawings
  • Knowledge of estimating practices and procedures including software input and data manipulation utilizing estimating software such as Timberline (Sage Estimating) and OnScreen Takeoff
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word, Outlook)
