The Project Lead Estimator will report to the Office or Regional Lead Estimator as well as the Corporate Estimating Manager. This Project Lead Estimator will be responsible for execution of assigned project estimates. This entails contributing directly to the estimate for one or more disciplines, but also includes coordination and oversight of the other contributing estimators. Management of other estimators and project team members will be required for most projects. This role will determine the execution strategy for each estimate they lead based on the type of estimate requested and the level of project definition. They will focus primarily on projects within their Region, but, as a Corporate Employee, they may lead or support estimates for other regions as workload dictates.

Responsibilities

• Execution of assigned project estimates
• Determine the execution strategy for each estimate they lead based on the type of estimate requested and the level of project definition
• Lead or support estimates for other regions as workload dictates
• Adapt quantification and pricing methods to match the intended use of the estimate and the level of project definition available
• Early stages of design and project definition will require conceptual methods, whereas detailed labor and material estimates will be developed as design approaches full-project definition
• Supplement these methods with a network of subcontractors and vendors when preparing construction proposals (Lump Sum, GMP, T&M, etc.). Support of Target Value Delivery trending activities

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 7 years of multi-discipline estimating, Lead Estimator experience, or a combination of either with design-build engineering experience preferred
• Previous management experience
• Experience with the following types of projects: Life Science Projects; Industrial Projects; Commercial Projects

• Individual must be self-motivated and possess strong communication/interpersonal skills
• Able to work effectively and make decisions under tight deadlines
• Possess conceptual and detailed estimating skills
• Understand project logistics and project schedules.
• Understand and account for white space scope through experience and communication with project team (designers, estimators, project managers).
• Ability to work independently without supervision as well as part of a team
• Knowledge of estimating practices and procedures including software input and data manipulation
• Utilizing estimating software such as Timberline (Sage Estimating) and OnScreen Takeoff
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word, Outlook)
• Possess strong network of subcontractors and suppliers related to area of expertise.
