Job Description

CP is seeking 2 Contingent Worker Cost Accounting Manager for a 12 month assignment to work onsite at our pharmaceutical/medical device client located in  in St. Louis, MO.  

Cost Accounting Manager responsibilities include the following: Determines and implements cost accounting procedures and methods. Ensures that all accounting systems are compliant with federal accounting standards, Generally Accepted Accounting Standards, SOX and internal policies. Responsible for the preparation and analysis of cost reports. Examines and reviews unusual cost records and ensures cost data is allocated correctly. Performs financial analysis of inventory and inventory reserves. Performs and evaluate plant absorption. Performs and evaluate plant variances, i.e. purchase price variances, usage, labor and yields. Reviews financial records. Directs preparation of budgets, reviews budget proposals, and prepares necessary supporting documentation and justification. Prepares journal entries. May assume a team lead role for the work group.

Qualifications

  • Candidates MUST SHOW ACCEPTABLE PROOF OF U.S. CITIZENSHIP / U.S. Lawful Permanent Resident Status and successfully complete a drug & background check
  • Requires a bachelor's degree in Accounting. 
  • CPA/MBA preferred.
  • 10-15 years of related plant accounting experience.
  • Working knowledge government accounting and FARS/DFARS.
  • Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Access and Word. 
  • Working knowledge of JD Edwards accounting software, Crystal Reports and data base software.
  • A specialist on complex technical and business matters.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Will report to Director, Accounting.
