Job Description

The Corporate Affairs team is seeking an experienced finance and investment writer for an 18-month contract.

We are looking for an ambitious writer who wants to grow their experience working for a leading global financial institution, or an investment professional who is passionate about writing and wants to refocus their career on the communications side of the business.

Working closely with the Managing Director, Corporate Affairs and Managing Director, Strategic Communications you will partner with internal subject matter experts to research and produce communications materials that drive a deeper understanding of our investment framework and performance.

In this role you will:

  • Develop, research, write, edit and oversee the production of financial/investment management editorial and other communications for both internal and external audiences, across all communications channels (e.g., internal news, speeches and scripts, white papers, social posts, presentations, social media, etc.).
  • Manage multiple content/editorial projects in various stages of development simultaneously.
  • Contribute smart ideas and content as a part of a highly collaborative cross-functional team working closely with senior leaders and subject matter experts across a large and multifaceted organization.

You are:

  • An exceptional writer: you have great communication skills, intellectual curiosity and knowledge of capital markets and institutional investing. You get excited about pitching smart content ideas, are obsessive about attention to detail, have a keen editorial eye with a solid background in fact-checking.
  • A storyteller: you can take complex financial concepts and craft them into clear and compelling content for digital and print, long- and short-form, video, podcast and infographics that is easy for audiences to understand and action.
  • An energetic self-starter: you can share success stories about working with dynamic and fast-paced teams in a culture of giving and receiving feedback. You are energized by working with others, you prioritize (and reprioritize), enjoy managing simultaneous assignments, and like a deadline.
  • A people person: you are known for your interpersonal skills and for easily connect with others, you build and maintain great relationships with colleagues, internal cross-functional working groups and external partners.

Qualifications

We’d like to meet you if you have:

  • An BA, BS and/or MA, MS in communications, journalism, business or a related field.
  • Experience in asset management, investment commentary, or financial writing with a portfolio of editorial content that exemplifies superb writing skills and the ability to structure and execute writing projects intended for variety of audiences, including at the CEO-level.
