Job Description

We are actively seeking a Director, Program Management who can lead strategic programs within the Alternative Asset Technology team. You will support Private Equity, Credit Investment and Real Asset teams on prioritized programs/product implementation and enhancements. AAs a leader, you will play a pivotal role in driving delivery of products and data related to private asset investment groups including pipeline, asset management, valuations and portfolio management.  Reporting to the Managing Director of Alternative Asset Technology, you will have accountability for implementing technology programs/solutions in collaboration with our Product Owners and Technical Area Leads.   

 

 

Major Accountabilities:

Execution Leadership

  • Owning the program outcomes and delivering the agreed business success criteria; monitoring progress against work plan and deliverables.
  • Identifying and managing program priorities by successfully mitigating dependencies and competing priorities across related initiatives.  Such priority management includes effectively prioritizing with Technical Area Lead on resource estimate assessment and resource forecasting so that bottlenecks are eliminated or minimized.
  • Build a culture of continuous learning and improvement within team and across the organization.
  • Proactively identify and highlight risks/issues and own accountability to resolve.

People Leadership

  • Coach and provide regular feedback to people within your team and across T&D.
  • Foster a culture of transparency and model the behaviour of building bridges and trust within the team and organization.
  • Instill a focus of responsiveness/sense of urgency and ensure all actions are outcome driven.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Effectively communicate to and influence peers and senior stakeholders, ensuring messages/materials can be comprehended by audiences of varying technical acumen.
  • Build network/relationships with business partners to understand business domain and needs to be valued as a trusted partner.
  • In partnership with the Technical Area Lead and Product Owner, build and align on strategic roadmaps, priorities and corresponding quarterly OKRs.
  • Build network/relationships across T&D to connect the dots to broader strategy, avoid silo’d thinking and drive synergies.
  • Effectively manage multiple stakeholder groups simultaneously.
  • Manage vendor relationships, optimizing efficiency and meeting budgetary needs to maximize business value.

Financial Management

  • Manage team financials to budget (forecasts, invoices for vendor software/contractors)

Qualifications

If you have the following qualifications, we encourage you to apply:

  • Undergraduate or advanced degree;
  • 8+ years’ experience in a related role(s) within the investment industry
  • Experience within alternative assets with deep business understanding of business processes/functions supporting these areas
  • Experience with implementations of products in the following areas considered an asset: Private Asset Data, Investment systems and Valuations. 
  • In depth knowledge of project management methodology (PMI certification)
  • A strong curiosity and desire to improve how work gets done
  • Ability to perform quick assessments identify potential risks and issues; ability to assess project risks at a detailed level;
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills – ability to coordinate many tasks simultaneously without losing focus on the priority; ability to work on multiple projects in a fast paced environment and with aggressive timelines
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a track record of execution.
  • Polished communication skills with experience presenting at the executive level. Ability to communicate credibly and persuasively with the broader organization.
  • A “change agent” with proven ability to lead change across an organization in matters that require a material shift in thought and behavior.
  • Proven ability to build strategic relationship and influence key stakeholders.
  • Additional assets include CFA designation and/or knowledge of investment domains.
