Job Description

We have an opening for a “Senior Analyst” position in our Expense Operations, Corporate Services, Technology & Operations team. The role will report to the Associate of Expense Operations and will include important tasks such as processing invoices daily and review, assessing and recording intercompany transactions between legal entities for tax plan compliance, and handling and recording accounting entries. In addition, the role will focus on enhancing various systems and processes supporting expense management, including performing data analytics, and presenting key performance metrics.

This is a dynamic role that works closely with other members of the Expense Operations team and collaborates with internal departments within CPP Investments.

Role-Specific Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for overseeing the centralized global vendor payments for investment-related expenses for the CPP Investments in accordance with policies and procedures
  • Responsible for the accurate and timely processing of investment related invoices as per company policy and standards
  • Assist stakeholders on expense-related matters; respond to stakeholder and auditor queries on a timely basis
  • Process month-end/quarter-end/year-end journal entries, intercompany transactions and reconciliations
  • Assist and support project and initiatives relating to expense processing, as required
  • Participates in the creation and execution of new procedures and controls to ensure compliance with company policies
  • Performs other duties as assigned or as the role evolves due to new processes, procedures and technology implementation

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, business or equivalent, with a professional accounting designation preferred
  • Minimum 4-6 years of experience in a related role, preferably in corporate or investment finance
  • Solid Microsoft Excel skills and other Microsoft Office applications; aptitude and interest in learning new software applications
  • A team player with strong interpersonal skills with an ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Self motivated with an ability to adapt to a rapidly changing business and technology environment, proactively taking ownership and responsibility
  • Excellent attention to detail and consistently high levels of accuracy
  • Exemplifies our Guiding Principles of partnership, integrity and high performance
