Job Description

Reporting to the Director, Learning & Development and working collaboratively with the Organisational Development (OD) team and in partnership with colleagues across the organization, the Manager, Learning & Development is responsible for designing and curating curriculum/ learning pathways to build enterprise-wide capabilities required to sustain a high performing global organization capable of delivering on our mandate. The Manager, Learning & Development is also responsible for planning, developing and implementing a learning technology stack to deliver and manage learning content for skill development and provide learning experiences that help in acquiring knowledge and application of skills.

Role Specific Accountabilities:

Enterprise Capabilities Learning Pathways

  • In partnership with the business and Talent Centres of Expertise (COEs), identify and prioritize key enterprise capabilities through learning needs analysis and evaluate the organization’s overall learning requirements aligned with business priorities.
  • Design, build and curate learning pathways relevant to acquire knowledge and skills to build defined enterprise capabilities with relevant information, contextualization and structure that optimizes the learning experience.
  • Investigate and “test & learn” from available learning methods and procedures to determine the most effective manner by which to meet specific learning needs (i.e., facilitator-led, virtual synchronous, virtual asynchronous, online learning, blended learning, videos, on-the-job support materials etc.).
  • Work collaboratively with business subject matter experts where required to gather or vet content.
  • Design and development of change management, communication, pre/post activities and evaluation tools, adhering to adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies and an agile learning development model.
  • Analyze, recommend and coordinate updates to existing learning materials for continuous improvement of course content and program delivery techniques.
  • Continually research to build a knowledge base of current and emergent learning technology trends, innovations, industry standards and best practices to ensure learning offerings continue to engage all learners.

Learning Technology Stack

  • In partnership with the Director, Organisational Development, set clear goals for the organization’s learning technology stack to drive the organization/talent strategy and optimize usage.
  • Design and plan a learning technology plan, including a multi-year roadmap where a governance framework and processes are established for using the learning technology stack.
  • Establish an implementation plan to stand up the learning technology stack where colleague engagement and interaction is central to the user experience.
  • Monitor performance of the learning technology stack to identify areas for improvement and ensure that the stack is used to achieve respective goals.
  • Measure engagement, effectiveness and motivation of colleagues in their engagement with our learning experiences and a collaborative learning environment that promotes sharing, discussing, coaching and experimentation.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree, college diploma or equivalent experience in related field (e.g., Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Learning Design, Digital Learning Media, Learning Development, Adult Learning is preferred; professional designation (e.g., CHRP) is a plus.
  • Proven instructional design experience and digital learning development.
  • Progressive experience in learning & development, project/program management and/or Organisational Development, preferably in the financial or professional services industry
  • Proven ability to partner with key stakeholder groups to implement large-scale programs/initiatives.
  • Strong communication skills (written and oral) with an ability to take concepts and express them concisely and effectively for all levels across the organization.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills and ability to understand broader impact of issues and risks.
  • Highly organized, proven attention to accuracy and detail and an ability to produce high-quality work or project manage under tight timeframes.
  • Advance practical experience using a Learning Management System and Microsoft Office Suite - Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, and keen on learning new systems and applications.
