Job Description

We are currently recruiting for an Intern to join the Active Equities (AE) department in São Paulo.

The Active Equities department invests in public and private equities, across all sectors, within developed and emerging markets.  We run long/short, market-neutral portfolios using long-term fundamental analyses to inform our security selection, alongside a hedging strategy that aims to minimize unintended factor exposures. The result is a portfolio with intentional exposure to fundamental research insights.

The Intern Analyst will provide support across all AE groups, including Fundamental Equities Asia (FEA), Relationship Investments (RI), Direct Equity Investments Latin America (DEILA), Active Fundamental Equities (AFE), Thematic Investing (TI) and Sustainable Investing (SI).

What you will do:

  • Assist with hedge portfolio construction and portfolio strategy across all AE Groups
  • Monitor and help manage portfolio risk, return, capital usage and transaction costs
  • Prepare insightful updates and analyses regarding portfolio risk and exposure
  • Enhance ad-hoc and regular portfolio reporting
  • Develop an understanding of quantitative factor modeling, in order to identify the drivers of portfolio return
  • Conduct scenario analyses on the implications of various hedging decisions
  • Contribute to strategic ad-hoc initiatives for the Active Equities department
  • Other duties as required


Who We’re Looking For:

  • Nearing completion of an undergraduate degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g. business, mathematics, engineering, economics or related field)
  • Strong technical skills are ideal, including Python, VBA and SQL
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Relevant experience within the financial services industry, including internships, is considered an asset
  • Progress towards CFA or FRM designations is considered an asset
  • Exhibit strong attention to detail and accuracy while meeting deadlines and working well under pressure
  • Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written) in both English and Portuguese
