Job Description

CORT is seeking an aggressive, people-oriented, self-motivated, flexible individual with strong career goals and leadership skills to be the Distribution/Operations Manager for our Raleigh,NC District.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Personnel Management - foster a working environment that promotes open communication and employee relations; 
  • Customer Service – manage to ensure a positive attitude of customer service as being #1 goal; 
  • Inventory Management– managing product condition, inventory accuracy, security, delivery, pick-up, storage, disposal, cleaning, repair and purchasing; 
  • Scheduling - manage the scheduling, routing, and control of all trucking activity to ensure efficient delivery and pick-up of furniture; 
  • Department Interaction – coordination with other district department heads to ensure coordination of warehouse activities with other district functions relating to rental, purchasing, and retail. 
  • Safety – ensure an environment of constant safety awareness and that closely adheres to safety standards as set forth by Company, OSHA, DOT, and HAZMAT.

Duties:

These functions include:

  • Delivery Fleet Management: managing the scheduling, routing, and control of all trucking activity to ensure efficient delivery and pick-up of furniture;Responsible for truck leasing, maintenance, and safety as well as related record keeping functions;
  • Personnel Management: foster a working environment that promotes open communication and employee relations;
  • Customer Service: manage to ensure a positive attitude of customer service as being #1 goal;
  • Department Interaction: coordination with other district department heads to ensure coordination of warehouse activities with other district functions relating to warehousing, rental, purchasing, and retail. Coordinatedepartment heads withinmulti- shift operation to ensure clear and consistent communication and working towards a common goal;
  • Safety:  ensure an environment of constant safety awareness and that closely adheres to safety standards as set forth by Company, OSHA, DOT, HAZMAT

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this position: 

  • will possess at least 5 years of successful hands-on management experience in running a distribution/warehouse operation of 10 or more employees in a service related industry; 

  • will have a strong personnel management background of motivating, directing, and developing personnel; 
  • will have successful history of time management; 

  • will have a strong commitment to customer service; 
  • will be computer literate; 
  • will have experience with bar-coded inventory management; and 
  • will have a basic understanding of how to determine and interpret Profit and Loss Reports.
