CONTROLTEC is seeking a hardworking, knowledgeable and detail oriented Systems Administrator.  The successful candidate will be team-oriented, should interact well with clients and high levels of the organization, and is able to take a project from inception to completion with moderate direction.  Positive attitude is essential. 

Job Responsibilities:

• Be accountable for the support of production systems
• Maintain and troubleshoot all systems, applications, security, and network configurations
• Be responsible for the daily administration of a cloud environment, related servers, security and network devices
• Troubleshoot network performance issues and help to create and maintain disaster recovery plans
• Install, test and administer enhancements to new and existing cloud servers
• Maintain servers to ensure trouble free operation and to ensure security
• Ensure data recoverability by conducting a schedule of system backups and disaster recovery scenarios
• Manage high level infrastructure related projects
• Work to ensure continuous infrastructure continuity
• Receive and troubleshoot help desk tickets from client user community.
• Create and Maintain Databases
• Write and maintain bash and python scripts

Minimum Requirements:

• 2+ years System Administration experience in a Linux environment
• 1+ year experience with cloud computing services such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Strong scripting experience in one or more languages (bash, Python, Perl, etc.)
• Advanced knowledge of installations, upgrades and troubleshooting of Linux systems.
• Strong technical aptitude and ability to research and solve complex issues independently
• Ability to effectively communicate issues and resolutions to all levels of the organization and customer base

Desired Skills & Qualifications

• Familiarity with automation and orchestration tools
• Certifications in one or more of the following areas: Linux, Cloud Computing, Security
• Familiarity with Ubuntu or other Debian based Linux distributions.
• Experience in designing and improving system architecture
• Experience working in a DevSecOps environment

Education

• 2-year degree in IT, MIS, Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent work experience
