Job Description

This position will consist of developing, testing, and documenting software and hardware engineering projects related to data acquisition in automotive engine, transmission, and vehicle control systems in the OE and aftermarket sectors.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform software and hardware product verification and validation tests via bench-top and in-vehicle testing
  • Develop or assist in the development of a statement of requirements for engineering projects
  • Become proficient in the use of all Control-Tec developed software/hardware and features
  • Conduct DVP&R or other iterative testing and document results
  • Provide documentation on new features and/or provide training to Control-Tec employees or customers
  • Provide feedback to design engineers on customer problems and needs
  • Make recommendations on required new features and/or software user interface improvements
  • Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications
  • Conduct research that tests and analyzes the feasibility, design, operation, and performance of equipment, components, and systems
  • Establish and maintain customer/internal data creation standards

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree - Automotive, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, preferred.
  • Knowledge of OE & aftermarket engine, transmission, and OBD vehicle calibration and product development systems
  • Knowledge of product development tools including data acquisition, management, and analysis tools
  • Strong written and oral communication skills. This role interacts with both external customers and internal management.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Must be able to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to see the “big picture” and understand how individual tasks interconnect and impact other parts of the testing process.
  • Desire to learn about the latest automotive system technology and then help our customers analyze and improve upon it.
