Job Description

CM Labs is seeking a Software QA Specialist. The individual will be responsible for working on the continuous development of our Vortex software platform. The platform is used in our 3D visual immersive simulators and also sold to external customers as Vortex Studio. Responsibilities involve the validation of the different components composing the platform, creating, documenting and maintaining the verification strategies. The candidate must have good oral and written communications skills and work well in a team environment. She/he must also have a keen observation and analytical skills. The Vortex platform is used to develop simulators for training operators and mission planning in different domains such as heavy equipment for construction, ports, mining, as well as robots, remotely operated vehicles, submarines and more. What you will do

 

  • Participate to the features design and development as part of an Agile team
  • Evaluate and challenge the functionality, performance and usability of Vortex Studio Editor and Simulator Console
  • Assist developers in fixing bugs and using the platform tools
  • Create, maintain and document the tests plans and tests cases
  • Automate tests plans and cases using python scripting
  • Be the client voice in the software development team, coordinate second line of support, report concerns to product management and issues to the development leads.
     

Qualifications

Who we are looking for

  • Software, Electrical or Mechanical, Computer Science degree or relevant experience
  • 5-7 years experience in software QA
  • Must be highly organized and detail oriented
  • Experience with software life-cycle and Agile methodologies
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Quick learning mindset in a multi-disciplinary environment
  • Strong sense of responsibility & commitment
  • Bilingual in French & English (oral & written)
  • Experience on Graphical User Interface software (Visual, 3D, Editor) would be an asset
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, JavaScript) would be an asset
  • Knowledge of JIRA, Git or equivalent tool suite would be an asset
