CM Labs is seeking a Mechanical Simulation Specialist to join its Professional Services Team, which is dedicated to creating custom simulations to meet and exceed each client’s unique needs. The candidate will participate in the real-time dynamics simulation of vehicles and heavy equipment such as construction/port cranes, earth-moving equipment, and military ground vehicles. Additional project-specific responsibilities include developing custom machine functionality, computing student metrics to promote learning, and interfacing with industrial PLCs. Simulators are built with Vortex Studio, powered by our high fidelity real-time multibody dynamics engine.

The candidate will work with the development team to understand clients’ needs and convert them into appropriate engineering specifications. He/she will then develop efficient simulation solutions using CM Labs Vortex Studio software tools and technology. Candidates must have good oral and written communications skills and work well in a team environment.

• MSc/MEng or PhD in Mechanical Engineering
• Three years of experience in multibody dynamics and simulation of robots, vehicles or heavy equipment
• Experience in control system design
• Experience in hydraulics/pneumatics is an asset
• Knowledge of C++ and Python is an asset
• Past experience in the real-time visual simulation industry is an asset
• Ability to travel internationally (about 6 weeks per year)
• Strong sense of responsibility and commitment
• Strong presentation skills, oral and written
