  • Write, edit, and refine non-technical proposal content so submissions read clearly, persuasively, and with a consistent voice.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into accessible language tailored to the client, project context, and evaluation criteria.
  • Develop original content where required, working collaboratively with subject matter experts to balance technical accuracy with strong messaging.
  • Integrate win themes consistently across written content, graphics, and interview materials.

Visual Storytelling & Design Oversight

  • Conceptualize and integrate graphics, layouts, and infographics that reinforce proposal messaging.
  • Provide design direction and oversight for custom proposal templates and layouts, with a clear vision for the final product.
  • Maintain a high standard of document quality, presentation, and visual cohesion using tools such as Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe InDesign.

Collaboration, Mentorship & Process

  • Partner closely with internal clients, senior management, and subject matter experts to manage inputs, timelines, and priorities.
  • Train and support junior proposal staff assigned to pursuits, providing practical guidance, review, and feedback.
  • Support onboarding of new subject matter experts into the proposal process.
  • Maintain proposal records, CRM updates, and documented debrief feedback to support continuous improvement across the team.

Qualifications

  • University degree or college diploma in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, Business, or a related field.
  • Brings 8 to12 years of experience in proposals, marketing communications, or business development within a consulting, engineering, or professional services environment.

  • Strong understanding of RFx types and evaluation methodologies.
  • Advanced document formatting and design skills using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign required; Illustrator and Photoshop experience).
  • Exceptional attention to detail paired with an understanding of overall strategy and message.
