Mission 

CIMA+’s Infrastructure team combines top-notch skills with an intimate understanding of the local community to deliver customized infrastructure services for municipalities and the land development industry. We have delivered hundreds of projects across Canada, including innovative solutions for the full spectrum of water and wastewater assets, on time and on budget.  We support clients from start to finish, whether for building brand new or assessing, repairing, and expanding on existing infrastructure. We are experiencing significant growth across our Western Canada offices, offering new and exciting complex projects that you will have the opportunity to shape and contribute to. We are actively seeking individuals who are eager to develop their skills, take on new challenges, and advance their careers within our organization.

We are looking for a 16-month civil engineering intern within our Infrastructure sector. You will work on diverse land development projects across the Alberta region, benefiting from a robust mentorship network to support your professional growth.

Main Responsibilities

  • Contribute to city-building projects by providing engineering support for Area Structure Plans and Outline Plans.
  • Support feasibility studies to assist clients with development opportunities and land acquisition.
  • Learn to apply software tools for site grading and servicing, including cut/fill balances, water supply, sanitary systems, stormwater management, shallow utilities, noise impact assessments and erosion control.
  • Contribute to project coordination involving shallow utilities, geotechnical, stormwater, and environmental components.
  • Gain hands on experience with on-site observation during active construction.
  • Coordinate with surveyors, contractors, and municipal representatives.
  • Review construction drawings, grade sheets, and construction specifications.
  • Support engagement and gain exposure with clients, municipalities and regulatory authorities.
  • Participate in quality assurance and quality control reviews to ensure deliverables meet high standards.

  • Eager to develop proficiency in Microsoft Office and industry-related design tools such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, PCSWMM, and BlueBeam Revu.
  • Motivated to learn and grow through mentorship and hands-on experience.

The salary for this position ranges from $24.15 to $30.45 per hour, depending on your academic profile, the number of credits earned, and your previous co-op or internship experience. The final offer and salary may be adjusted based on your unique profile.
