Job Description
We are seeking a designer to join our growing team that has been constantly innovating in traffic engineering for over twenty-five years. You'll play a key role in large-scale projects involving traffic signals, roadway lighting, special projects in transport electrical engineering and associated civil work.
In addition to working on innovative, meaningful projects, you’ll enjoy the flexibility of our hybrid work model—work from home or in one of our offices in Burlington, Mississauga, London, Guelph, Kitchener, Ottawa or Bowmanville. Plus, with flexible hours, you’ll have the freedom to balance work and life your way.
Primary responsibilities
- Prepare lighting and/or traffic signal layouts
- Prepare wiring diagrams and electrical details.
- Perform photometric analysis of lighting systems.
- Calculate voltage drop.
- Prepare contract documents and specifications.
- Conduct site visits and manage contract administration.
- Prepare as-built drawings.
Qualifications
- Transportation, electrical or civil engineering technologist background. Bachelor's degree in electrical or civil engineering, would be an asset
- Familiarity with relevant regulatory requirements (e.g. TAC, ESA, IMSA, AODA, OTM).
- Knowledge of pavement marking and roadway signage plans, would be an asset
- Experience with traffic signals and roadway lighting design in the Ontario.
- Proficient with any of AGi32, AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
