Job Description

CIMA+ has a long history of success in Eastern Canada and is made up of over 3000 employees across the country. 

Our offices in Western Canada are in the middle of a large growth trajectory. This means new, exciting complex projects that you will have the ability to shape and be a part of. As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you'll have the opportunity to learn from our experts about what it takes to design, model, and draft HVAC and building plumbing systems. You'll also gain hands-on experience working on a variety of project types, including mixed-use buildings, tenant improvement renovations, and equipment replacement projects.

Primary Responsibilities 

  • Assist in the design, modelling and drafting of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, building plumbing systems, fire protection systems, and HVAC control systems, using the latest versions of Revit and AutoCAD 
  • Assist with design calculations under the supervision of a Senior Engineer 
  • Assist with implementing redline markups from engineers 
  • Assist in report writing and budget costing 
  • Assist with coordination with electrical engineering staff 
  • Participate in occasional site visits to survey existing conditions, and to document ongoing construction

Qualifications

  • Student, presently enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology program in Mechanical or Buildings Engineering 
  • Ability to apply technical knowledge to various practical problems 
  • A desire to learn and continually develop 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills 
  • Interest in working and collaborating in a multidisciplinary team environment 
  • Valid driver’s licence

The salary for this position ranges from $20.00 to $29.00 per hour, depending on your academic profile, the number of credits earned, and your previous co-op or internship experience. The final offer and salary may be adjusted based on your unique profile.
