Job Description

Our current Structural team based in Vancouver comes from a diverse background and is involved in a broad range of markets. We provide services for large scale developments to small temporary works projects, working with developers, contractors, equipment suppliers, and building owners/operators. Our team prides itself on taking on new challenges that others will not. Using our depth of knowledge and experience, we are able draw on expertise across Canada to find best practice solutions in varying regions and construction types.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Structural Buildings Engineer to join our Vancouver based team. In this role, you will leverage your extensive experience (minimum 15 years) to lead and shape projects across various sectors, including commercial, institutional, educational and some industrial. You will play a pivotal role in mentoring a team of structural engineers, guiding them through projects, while also fostering client relationships.

While working from the Vancouver office for majority of the time, you will be able to work in a hybrid mode. 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Oversee or directly contribute to the structural design of buildings including commercial, institutional, educational, sports & recreation, healthcare, airports, transportation, and industrial.
  • Work with the project team from conceptual and preliminary stages of design through to completion 
  • Ensure compliance to the quality assurance and control program
  • Directly engage with clients to understand project needs and maintain strong business relationships.
  • Participate in the business development activities through the Metro Vancouver area. 
  • Champion a culture of client service excellence and team collaboration.

Qualifications

    • Registered Professional Engineer with EGBC. 
    • StructEng designation with EGBC is an asset 
    • 15+ years of directly related experience in structural engineering 
    • Self-motivation and strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)  
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. 
    • Demonstrate a commitment to client service that is second to none.

    The expected salary for this position is from $130,000 to $160,000 based on the richness and diversity of the candidate’s experience, training, skills and internal equity. The position or associated salary could vary depending on the profile of the candidate.
