Job Description

We are actively looking for certified Health and Safety Coordinators (CoSS) or Prevention Officers to join our specialized team in Health and Safety Management. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of OHS on construction sites for stimulating and diversified projects taking place in the greater metropolitan area. 

Primary responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with legislation and the prime contractor's prevention program to provide a safe environment for workers and the public.
  • Carry out daily inspections and document observations and disciplinary measures
  • Analyze risk situations, comment on or approve work methods
  • Lead and document OHS worksite committees, and participate in safety breaks as required
  • Intervene in the event of accident risk, and take appropriate measures to eliminate risks
  • Participate in investigations following an on-site event and accompany the CNESST inspector during his interventions

Qualifications

  • College diploma (DEC), bachelor's degree or other relevant diploma
  • CNESST certification as a prevention officer / CoSS on construction sites (mandatory)
  • Minimum 5 years' proven experience as a prevention officer / CoSS
  • Knowledge of health and safety laws and regulations
  • Mastery of the Construction Safety Code
  • Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel)
