Job Description

We are looking for a talented and experienced Social Media Manager to join our remote team!

Reporting to the Communications Strategy Manager the successful candidate will be working closely with the Communications Strategy Manager, you'll play a vital role in our global team and propel our social media presence to new heights!

Main Responsibilities:

1. Social Media Strategy: Work with the extended team to develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with company goals, ensuring brand consistency across all platforms.

Identify opportunities and manage the global calendar for posts, such as:

  • Conferences, exhibitions, workshops, etc. 
  • Journal articles, press and news releases 
  • Business line marketing content
  • And recruiting messages

2. Content Creation: Collaborate with the team to create engaging and shareable content for various social media channels, with a focus on LinkedIn but also including: Instagram, Facebook, X (formally Twitter) and YouTube. Build content for and review/update upcoming posts in Hootsuite, factoring in channel, day, timezone, business line, topic, etc. Contribute to the internal employee social media awareness initiative as well by promoting posts to our Viva Engage platform.

3. Campaign Management: Plan and implement social media campaigns. Set objectives, dates, budget and audience for boosted and paid promotions to increase brand awareness, engagement, and reach target audiences.

4. Audience Engagement: Foster community growth and engagement by responding to comments, messages, and mentions as needed, in a timely and professional manner. Actively also look for other content that can be shared by relevant third-party company connections (organizations, publications, universities, etc.) as guided per the team.

5. Analytics and Reporting: Monitor social media analytics using various tools, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and provide quarterly reports on the effectiveness of social media efforts to management. Report specific performance stats as requested for specific events, business line content, etc. Use insights to optimize strategies for better results.

6. Teamwork: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, content creation, and design, to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to social media initiatives. Provide LinkedIn advice and basic best practice guidance/training to employees internally if requested. Update employee guides and information on social media policies or other associated documentation.

7. Stay Updated: Keep on top of the latest trends, competitor activities, and emerging platforms to ensure the company's social media strategy remains innovative and effective. Be ready to attend LinkedIn/ Hootsuite or other training that could be beneficial to our social media strategy & content.

Qualifications

Minimum of 2-3 years of proven experience as a Social Media Manager, preferably B2B.

Technical skills:

  • Proficient in using social media management tools, such as, Hootsuite.
  • Experience with both Google Analytics & LinkedIn Campaign Manager.
  • Strong understanding of social media algorithms and best practices.
  • Knowledge of graphic design tools for basic image editing would be a plus.

Communication skills & creativity: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to craft compelling and concise copy for social media posts. Demonstrate a creative mindset and the ability to think outside the box when developing social media campaigns.

Remote work skills: Proven ability to work independently and efficiently in a global, culturally diverse, and remote work environment.
