Job Description

We are looking for enthusiastic, talented and highly motivated Geochemist to join our team based in North Wales.

Using your organic geochemical knowledge, in an applied environment, you will work in a multi-disciplinary team and have responsibility for using a range of techniques and processes to contribute to exciting projects.

We are looking for individuals who are intuitive, ask questions and will continuously seek to improve our interpretations and processes.

The successful candidate will work with CGG´s Laboratory team in a project-focused team responsible for working in collaboration with our clients and delivering impressive results every time. They must have the ability to generate and interpret data and prepare professional reports related to their specific discipline independently and accurately.

Principle Accountabilities

  • Work independently on single discipline and multi-disciplinary work/projects
  • Independently and accurately generate and interpret data and prepare professional reports related to Geochemistry and Petroleum Systems Analysis
  • Demonstrate understanding and developing knowledge of other technical disciplines and of wider CGG products and services
  • Contribute to client meetings, independently present both internally and at conferences
  • Support in the content creation and delivery of training programmes
  • Carry out organic petrography (Spore colour index, vitrinite reflectance, kerogen composition)
  • Co-ordination of projects and liaising with clients.

There may also be a requirement to undertake work outside of the UK for short periods of time, depending on current projects. 

Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level (MSc or above) in Geology or Chemistry
  • Strong knowledge of Petroleum Systems Analysis, and use of PetroMod and/or Trinity software
  • Experience of p:IGI software an advantage
  • Experience of writing technical reports
  • Excellent Microsoft office skills
  • Data science expertise an advantage
  • English language skills
  • Other language skills an advantage
