Job Description

We are looking for exceptional, enthusiastic, talented and highly motivated individuals to join our CGG Satellite Mapping team, as part of our Energy Transition Environment (ETE) business line based in Edenbridge, UK (25 miles south of London).

We harness the unique capabilities of Earth observation satellites, providing innovative mapping and monitoring solutions, and access to the best imagery and elevation data, across a variety of applications and markets including Energy, Mining, Engineering, Environment and Defence.

The successful candidate will support in growing products through interpretation of offshore imagery for their Seep Explorer and Seascope pollution services.

Principle Accountabilities

  • Key responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
  • Interpretation of offshore imagery for natural oil slick detection
  • Interpretation of offshore imagery for pollution slicks
  • GIS compilation, support & development for the exploration team
  • Role may also require occasional out of hours work

Qualifications

Skills & Competencies: 

  • Suited to candidates with at least a BSc in an Earth science discipline. A MSc in Remote Sensing or extensive use of remote sensing in a related MSc is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience of image processing and GIS software packages is essential. 
  • Good communication skills
  • Enthusiasm to interact with the team and across disciplines at CGG
  • Ability to work well both in a team and independently (where required)
  • Ability to take initiative, apply innovative thinking and to communicate well to solve problems
