Job Description

CGG Satellite Mapping’s InSAR team are looking for graduate InSAR Scientists to join our world leading team. Using you analytical and problem-solving skills, you’ll turn raw satellite data into actionable ground movement intelligence for the mining, oil and gas, and civil engineering sectors.

Reporting to the InSAR Projects Lead, the InSAR scientist will be responsible for the production and delivery of InSAR results, as well as contributing to the management and coordination of commercial projects (from enquiry, through to production and delivery). On joining CGG the employee will embark on an intensive, hands-on programme of training and mentoring that will aim to develop them to a high level of proficiency as soon as possible.

CGG’s Satellite Mapping business unit is a world-leading supplier of satellite imagery and elevation data, and innovative derived mapping and monitoring solutions. Our technology and expertise transform satellite image pixels into actionable information, reducing risk and uncertainty across a variety of applications and markets including Oil & Gas, Mining, Engineering, Environment and Defence.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • MSc/MSci, PhD or relevant experience in:
  • Remote Sensing
  • Geology/Geophysics
  • Geomatics/GIS
  • Physics
  • Mathematics
  • Subjects similarly applied and numerate

Beneficial Experience

  • Experience with SAR and InSAR data
  • Familiarity with GIS software
  • Exposure to other remote sensing datasets (optical, LiDAR, photogrammetry)
  • Familiarity with Python or other programming language an advantage
  • Written and verbal competency in English
  • Project management
  • A willingness to learn and enthusiasm for Earth Observation
