Job Description

CGG Data Hub are looking for innovative graduate Data Geoscientist with a passion for data science, geoscience and technology, coupled with an enthusiasm for analytical and problem-solving challenges. Our Data Geoscientists play an integral role classifying, extracting, transforming, and QC-ing data as it passes through our data pipeline. You will use your subject matter knowledge to improve interpretation workflows, analytics and visualisations. 

The ideal candidate will have an enthusiastic attitude towards learning, and the flexibility to adapt to new challenges or changes in direction.

Team Description 
Data hub is a growing and dynamic team of scientists and developers who love solving complex problems. We provide leading edge technology solutions and services to solve our clients’ data transformation and analytics challenges across a range of industries including geothermal, environmental, hydrocarbon and mineral exploration. You will be working in an open and collaborative environment with opportunities to learn, grow, and develop. We have an informal team culture and believe work should be fun and rewarding.

You can choose which hub location to be based from (North Wales or Crawley) and you will be working alongside our teams of data engineers, machine learning engineers and subject matter experts.

Qualifications

•    BSc, MSc or PhD in any of the following disciplines;
o    Geoscience 
o    Environmental science 
o    Petroleum engineering
o    Geophysics

•    Python or a similar programming language
•    Knowledge of databases and SQL
•    Familiarity with geoscience input/output data
Desirable experience may include

•    Familiarity with data extraction techniques from a variety of file types
•    The ability to define and manage project deadlines
•    Excellent communication, presentation and collaboration skills
