Job Description

Responsible for general accounting, fixed asset maintenance, operating expense review, forecast and balance sheet reconciliation. Provides support to Finance and Cost Controllers as needed for various projects and reporting. Reports to Finance Controller.

ESSENTIAL POSITION DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS:

  • Completes duties of fixed asset accountant, including processing of capital expenditure requests, recording newly acquired assets, tracking existing assets, transacting asset disposals, recording depreciation and organizing a physical asset inventory.
  • Performs analytical review of operating expense activity to ensure proper classification and accounting to support financial statement reporting.
  • Analyzes assigned balance sheet accounts and prepares monthly adjusting journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly forecasts, including coordination with management to provide input and analysis of operating expense projections.
  • Maintain strong internal controls of assigned areas and assist with internal and external audits.
  • Performs special projects as requested.

Qualifications

SKILLS NECESSARY TO PERFORM POSITION DUTIES:

  • Self-motivated individual with strong communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills with a  firm understanding of financial statement and balance sheet accounts
  • Knowledge of computerized accounting environment with proficiency in Excel; SAP and/or Bloomberg Fixed Asset experience is a plus.

TYPICAL EDUCATION:          Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:         Minimum 2 years practical experience

                                                 Audit experience is preferred
