Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and talented IT Specialist to join our IT team! 

Main responsibilities 

•    Provide support to Rio production on a day to day operational issues
•    Act in alignment with user needs and system functionality, to contribute to operational efficiency
•    Design, develop, implement and coordinate systems, policies and procedure
•    Install, configure and resolve problems with various databases and application environments (example: Oracle).
•    Maintain, review backups, and apply patches and updates to the databases and applications when appropriate.
•    Handle activities related to user administration, hardware/software troubleshooting
•    Provide 24/7 on-call support as part of a rotating schedule.
•    Liaise with supervisors, Business managers & other groups (Accounting, networking) on a regular basis to provide information & solutions  
•    Install and configure Linux and Unix based  desktops, servers and clusters
•    Install and configure the Operating systems and all applicable software
•    Maintain and repair Unix and Linux systems and associated equipment
•    Hands on experience with computer networks, or Linux administration is required
•    Work in a varied environment that includes, but is not limited to, platforms running Linux  & Windows10

Qualifications

•    Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis & of computer hardware/software systems
•    3-10 years Linux administration experience 
•    Excellent interpersonal skills.
•    Strong background in Linux/Unix Administration
•    Experience with automation/configuration management using either Puppet, Chef, Salt, Ansible or an equivalent
•    Experience with Docker and container orchestration.
•    A familiarity of code and script (Python, Perl); shell scripting
•    Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service

Educational Background 

 

  • Graduated with IT or related
  • Solid experience with Linux, Storage and Networking 
  • Relevant experience with Windows
     

Languages:

Good communication skills in both Portuguese and English
