Job Description

This position is based in Houston, TX and responsible for providing ongoing support, administration of Oracle databases and application environments.

Primary Technical Responsibilities:

  • Patch, upgrade, maintain, clone and troubleshoot Oracle EBS 12.1.3
  • Configure, maintain and troubleshoot all EBS 12.1.3 DBA areas, such as concurrent processing, OPP, SSO, forms servers, https servers, certificates, Workflow mailers, profile options, EBS DB parameters, EBS Security and EBS Weblogic Servers (OA Cores).
  • Configure, patch, install, maintain and troubleshoot WebLogic Server.
  • Provide proactive performance monitoring and capacity planning.
  • SQL tuning with tools such as SQL Tuning Advisor and SQL Optimizer.
  • Configure, patch, install, maintain and troubleshoot Oracle core database versions 11.x to 19c.
  • Monitor instances and perform tasks with OEM 13c.
  • Analyze root cause of tech stack related issues and provide solutions.
  • Administer and maintain security policies and procedures.
  • Work in Linux and shell scripting for Apps DBA tasks.
  • Work with Oracle backup (RMAN) and recovery options.

Collaborative Responsibilities:

  • Respond to and resolve applications reliability and performance issues.
  • Work extensively with the functional support teams on production support, new projects and Oracle support tickets.
  • Work independently with various support teams.
  • Work with other technical teams, such as network, server, SSO and OS.
  • Assume role as Apps DBA on-call required on an approximate 4-week rotation.
  • Limited tasks on Oracle Hyperion and Oracle BI (in alignment with Hyperion and BI tech leads).
  • Works according with the change control procedures and ensures compliance of change control and any other Information System’s procedure or work instruction that ensures compliance to Information System’s policy and ISO.
  • Perform critical Patch management and Configuration management and administrations of all Oracle e-business suite application and databases as directed by the team lead.
  • Provide emergency after hours support for critical applications as needed. Perform upgrades/ DRP testing/ maintenance after hours as needed.
  • Participates in technical team meetings and provide updates to the worldwide team as needed.

Qualifications

 

The ideal candidate will have a minimum 4 years of experience in an Oracle EBS Application DBA role and a minimum 4 years of experience with Oracle RDBMS

  • Strong understanding and experience in the EBS R12.1 architecture, application tiers, database, WebLogic, concurrent processing, Fusion Middleware and forms.
  • DBA Applications system administration and troubleshooting.
  • Experience in SQL tuning.
  • Current Oracle R12.1 Applications DBA skills including upgrade, platform migrations, tuning, and management of 24×7 environments.
  • Experience with cloning system test and development environments from Production Oracle Applications environment.
  • Adherence to processes and understanding the importance of documentation is required.
  • Experience operating in a Linux environment and writing shell scripts.
  • The candidate should also have great oral and written communication skills due to a high level of interaction with customers.

  • Shown ability to perform efficiently in a fast-paced, rapid changing environment.
