Job Description

Joining the UK based Multi-Client and New Ventures (MCNV) team, the Director will be responsible for the strategic growth and sustainability of the Sub-Saharan Africa, North Africa and Middle East region. 

Reporting to the regional Vice-President, and leading a diverse technical and sales team, the Director will execute and lead all marketing, business development, sales, project development and people management activities for the region.

Principle Accountabilities

  • Develop and implement a sales strategy for the region, to deliver sales targets set by the Vice President.
  • Lead and develop a diverse team of technical and sales people
  • Develop and implement a sales strategy for each region, to deliver sales targets, manage activity reports, sales forecasts, etc.
  • Develop and execute MCNV projects within the regions
  • Seek partnership opportunities to manage risk and/or expand the business in the region
  • Manage interactions with commercial consultants
  • Resource planning and allocation of tasks to the sales team and geoscience resources, including overseeing the preparation of business cases, quotations and proposals to government agencies, National Oil Companies (NOCs) and International Oil Companies (IOCs), including co-ordination between the various business lines of the Company
  • Manage business relations with the internal regional support network including Geomarkets, Compliance, Legal and Key Account Managers (KAMs)
  • Determine the market and identify ways to attract new accounts thorough knowledge of client operations
  • Lead client and government meetings and functions

Qualifications

  • 10-15 + years, ideally including technical geoscience multi-client, business development and project management roles in the O&G market
  • BSc or higher degree in a Geosciences, Engineering or similar related subject
  • Proven experience dealing with governments, clients, emerging technologies and industry trends in order to understand client requirements to develop and lead new business opportunities
  • Fluent in English

Desired:

  • Experience in leading the business development and sales for  Multi-Client  geosciences programs in the Africa and Middle East region
  • A technical background and experience in Geosciences (Interpretation, Seismic Processing ,or Acquisition methods)
  • A second language (French or Portuguese) is also desirable.
  • Preference will be given to candidates holding an MBA
