Job Description

Responsible for carrying out routine warehouse and driving duties under the guidance and direction of the Stores Supervisor. The role largely consists of retrieving and refiling boxes and items within the UK warehouses according to strict client SLA’s (service level agreements). Due to the nature of the job and the material stored within our facilities the role will necessitate routine heavy lifting but in adherence to the companies HSE guidelines.

The role will require the use of forklifts; MEWP’s and company vans in order to fulfil the various daily duties.

Due to the number of facilities operated in each geographic area, a degree of flexibility is required by the Stores Person, who may be required to work in different units, in order for the business to maintain efficiency across its units. In most cases the majority of units are within a 20-30 minute drive of each other so easily accessible.

Principle Accountabilities

  • Receiving and checking all goods inwards according to company process and procedure.
  • Dispatching all goods outwards in line with company process and procedures.
  • Operating PleXus and VCK metadata and warehouse management systems to ensure effective processing of client requests. Depending on regional location this aspect of the job might be handled in part by the Orders Co-ordinator.
  •  Conducting regular audits to ensure accuracy within the warehouse.
  •  Handling and setting up of geological data for client viewings.
  •  Driving company vehicles to ensure the safe delivery/collection of data to and from client sites.
  •  Operating forklift trucks and MEWP’s to assist with daily duties.
  • Conducting monthly building checks (if required-site specific).
  • Ensuring warehouse facilities are clean and tidy at all times.
  • Cleaning of company vehicles (if required-site specific).
  •  Actively participate in adherence to the company’s Quality and HSE Management System.

Qualifications

  • GCSE English and Maths to Grade C or above (preferred).
  • IT literate.
  • Minimum two years’ experience of working in a warehouse environment.
  • Clean driving license essential.
  • Forklift truck license preferred.
  • MEWP license preferred.
