Job Description

Reporting to the Office and Customer Care Manager, the Index/Cataloguing Specialist will be responsible for capturing metadata from our Client’s data assets while meeting project requirements and specifications. As an Index/Cataloguing Specialist, you must possess exceptional attention to detail, communication within a team environment, and the ability to learn and adapt on the job. Due to the working environment and nature of the job, candidates must have the ability to lift at least 40 pounds, and have the capability to meet potential physical demands of job; including the ability to stand for extended periods, use of hands/dexterity; stoop, kneel, lift, carry, push and pull.

Duties and Essential Job Functions:

1.     Index/Cataloguing Specialist Activities

  • General E&P data knowledge.
  • The ability to confirm Client items received by CGG match the Client Transmittal and metadata.
  • Index/catalogue new items into CGG data management application(s) with correct metadata as required.
  • Follow Client specific index procedures.
  • Follow warehouse procedures for backfilling of boxes and creation of new locations.
  • Visually inspects materials received for any damage
  • Ensure the quality of all assigned tasks, either through spot checking or QC processes
  • Resolve and/or escalate any roadblocks or issues.
  • Have a good working knowledge and understanding of the programs, applications, and equipment required to perform job functions.
  • Exceptional communication skills with internal project team and line management.
  • Cultivating a positive working relationship with project team.
  • Acts in accordance with corporate HSE policy and procedure.

2.     Warehouse Support Activities

  • Due to the working environment and nature of the job, candidates must have the ability to lift at least 40 pounds.
  • Ability to meet potential physical demands of job including the ability to stand for extended periods of time; use of hands/dexterity; stoop, kneel, lift, carry, push and pull.
  • Ability to use a hand operated pallet jack.

Qualifications

Knowledge and Skills   

  • Working knowledge of computers, especially in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word).
  • Demonstrate organizational and planning skills, capable of managing a large number of tasks with tight deadlines.
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be detail oriented, versatile, reliable, and a self-starter able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent relationship and teamwork skills.
