Job Description

Job Summary:
The Global Operational Sourcing and HSE Manager primary responsibility is to actively contribute/provide expert support and meet the specific demands of CGG MCNV for all global marine and land acquisition projects The position lies outside of the regional line management and is critical in bridging HSE – Sourcing – Operations which are intrinsically linked.
The position will ensure that all sourced units are fit and capable to carry out the requirements in a safe and efficient manner. The Global Operational Sourcing and HSE Manager will build strong relationships with varied suppliers and identify ways to build strategic partnerships, while being alert to new opportunities and improvements in all contexts of the job

Key Job responsibilities:

  • Help define the sourcing scope for Marine & Land acquisition projects.
  • Lead the sourcing effort and provide supplier analysis and recommendations to project managers and senior management.
  • Follow supplier performance and contribute to review as well as providing direct feedback to suppliers on a regular basis
  • Be strongly connected to the various market places (nodes, 2D and 3D) through attendance at professional events
  • Strongly support the PM in the HSE process for each Marine & Land acquisition project.
  • Supplier site visits, both in the field and to supplier office locations, formal (audits and inspections) and informal (networking, kick off meetings)
  • Regional MCNV office visits to ensure strong relationships and to build on existing networks
  • Review and update the CGG MCNV HSE & Operational processes when necessary
  • Be one of the key faces of HSE in CGG and the operational lead in MCNV.
  • Follow closely the global planning of all CGG MCNV marine & land acquisition projects.  Where strategic partnerships exist highlight any risks in the planning that may affect the CGG group financially.
  • Presentation internally to senior staff and colleagues.
  • Presentation externally to clients, governmental organisations, etc.
  • Management of multiple client relationships with varying needs and requirements

 

 

Qualifications

Required Skills / Experience

  • Background: Relevant Tertiary qualifications - BSc degree or higher in mathematics or science
  • 5 years+ offshore experience on towed seismic or node operations
  • 5 years+ in onshore operations roles
  • 2 years+ in a commercial position (Sales or Sourcing)
  • Formal HSE qualifications equivalent to NEBOSH general certificate
  • Experience in inspecting and auditing vessels plus risk assessment
  • Experience in responding to acquisition tenders including identifying operation, technical and commercial risks
  • Ability to understand constraints of equipment manufacturers, operators, and clients to facilitate solutions to acquisition problems
  • Ability to establish and build strong working relationships both internally and externally
  • Demonstrable project management skills
  • Willingness and ability to grow into an expert in nodes/towed seismic if both competencies are not currently held.
