CGG’s NPA Satellite Mapping division provide world leading remote sensing and digital cartographic information.

We are a leading independent distributor of commercial satellite imagery and our experienced remote sensing experts derive intelligence from imagery across offshore and onshore environments.

We deal with many different clients, predominantly from the Oil and Gas sector. They all have different challenges and we therefore need people who are able to build trust with a client; to understand their requirements, manage expectations and build professional relationships.

What does an InSAR Scientist do?

Working in a project focused team, you will be responsible for the end-to-end management and coordination of commercial projects (from enquiry, through to production and delivery), ensuring they work to established procedures and quality standards.

You will also contribute, and eventually lead on internal InSAR research and development initiatives, to ensure the team functions at a high technical level and maintains its world-leader status in ground deformation mapping.

Furthermore, you will assist with publishing results of their work through research journals, articles, internal conferences and client seminars.

We are looking for individuals who are intuitive, ask questions and will continuously seek to improve our technology and processes.

Qualifications

Our Graduate Programme requires individuals who can exhibit a collaborative approach to working and a proven ability to critically analyse scientific data and problems to reach solutions and conclusions.

Your technical skill set may include:

·         Scientific programming experience (e.g. matlab, python, IDL, C and similar)

·         GAMMA Software

·         Familiarity with working from Linux command line

·         Handling remote sensing and GIS data

·         GIS packages (preferably ArcGIS, but alternatively QGIS, Envi/IDL, ERDAS, ERMapper etc.)

·         Algorithm development experience

·         Uncertainty propagation/estimation

You will have a BSc or higher qualification in SAR, InSAR, geodesy, remote sensing, physics, mathematics or a subject similarly applied and numerate.

Ideally you will have progressed your academic career to MSc or PhD level in a field involving InSAR.
