To support our continued growth, we are looking for a detail-oriented, technically skilled administrator to assist the Business Development division in developing and executing client proposals, managing complex administrative workflows, and contributing to the strategic growth of the company. This position demands strong analytical and administrative capabilities, excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and a solid understanding of engineering or manufacturing processes. The successful candidate will work closely with the Directors, Engineering Team, Project Engineers, and Sales Team to prepare detailed technical proposals, costings, and project documentation tailored to client specifications.

Job Description

  • Prepare high-level Excel-based cost breakdowns, and process flow diagrammes to support proposals.
  • Work directly with the Director to develop and implement business development strategies.
  • Collaborate with engineers and project teams to compile accurate, detailed technical proposals for prospective clients.
  • Analyse customer needs and translate them into tailored solutions using CFAM’s product and service offerings.
  • Manage customer data, maintain proposal templates, and update CRM systems with accuracy and consistency.
  • Coordinate with the Sales Team to ensure timely follow-ups, updates, and proposal submissions.
  • Track and report on proposal outcomes, pipeline status, and sales metrics.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of CFAM’s product range and project case studies to support the proposal development process.
  • Assist in developing marketing collateral, technical presentations, and bid documents.
  • Schedule and participate in customer and internal meetings, capturing minutes and following up on actions.
  • Support other business development and sales administration tasks as needed.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma in Engineering, Industrial Design, Business, or a related technical field.
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in business development, technical sales, or proposal writing in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working with technical teams and understanding engineering documentation and processes.
  • Proven experience preparing commercial and technical proposals.

Additional Information

hnical & Administrative Skills:

  • Expert-level Microsoft Excel skills (formulas, data modelling, tables, formatting, etc.).
  • Strong administrative and document management abilities.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of attention to detail, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise tasks effectively.
