This opportunity is for an Engineer | Space Flight Dynamics (m/f/d) to be integrated into the geoSystems team for the development of Ground Segment tools and analysis for Space Flight Dynamics and Mission Analysis.

Job Description

  • Integrate the geoSystems team in the development of the Ground Segment System for the Atlantic Constellation and MH-X satellites;
  • Work with software development team in the development and implementation of orbital and space flight dynamics software for processing satellite data products;
  • Implementation and simulation of complex attitude and propulsion maneuvers for the new missions;
  • Explore, benchmark and select flight dynamics libraries (ESA EO-CFI, ESA GODOT and Orekit);
  • Participate in the development and testing of standalone space flight dynamics and mission analysis tools in support of satellite design and commissioning activities;
  • Perform preliminary mission analysis in collaboration with the spacecraft integration team at N3O, spacecraft and payload providers and operations team at GEOSAT;
  • Cooperate in improving tools and processes and share knowledge/information;
  • Produce all needed documentation required for certification;
  • Provide support during development phase and participate in potential optimisation campaigns while in operations. 

Qualifications

  • M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering, Physics or related discipline;
  • Proven experience in Flight Control Systems and Flight Mechanics activities covering the full lifecycle of an aerospace artefact, from conceptual phase to industrial production;
  • Very good knowledge of orbital dynamics such as orbit propagation and determination, event detection, attitude and propulsion maneuvers and collision avoidance;
  • Good knowledge and previous experience of flight dynamics libraries (mainly Orekit and ESA GODOT);
  • Good interpersonal skills to work as a team, but can also work independently and demonstrate self-reliance and initiative to achieve the goals established;
  • Good programming skills in Java, C/C++ and Python in a professional work environment;
  • Fluent in English.
