As an Electrical Technician you will join the EL-CS Section in the Electrical Engineering Group. You will actively participate in the studies and worksite monitoring of (de)cabling installations for diverse equipment at CERN accelerators, such as beam instrumentation, vacuum systems, safety systems.

Amongst your tasks you will be involved in the following:

  • Analyses of requirements for de-cabling and cabling worksites. Take part in analysing the users requests, verifying for instance the cable types, cable routes, connector types and wiring conventions
  • Assist the senior project managers in preparing technical files for the contractors
  • Participate on site surveys for identification and tagging of unused cables
  • Participate in the worksite monitoring, reporting on daily basis the quality and progress of the work performed by contractors, addressing the non-conformities and conduct the final acceptance
  • Control as-built documentation and update cable database

Your profile

Skills and/or knowledge

  • Higher Technical Diploma in Electricity or equivalent
  • Excellent team-working attitude
  • Fluent in English, the ability to work in French would be an advantage.

Eligibility criteria:

  • You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.
  • You have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in Electrical or Electronics studies (or a related field) by the application deadline.
  • Your highest educational qualification is a general secondary education diploma.
  • You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
  • Applicants with a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD degree are not eligible.

  • This position requires:
    • Work in Radiation Areas.
    • Interventions in underground installations.
    • A valid driving licence.
    • Work during nights, Sundays and official holidays, when required by the needs of the Organization.
