Job Description
Your responsibilities
CERN's IT department is looking for a Quantum Communication and Time and Frequency Engineer for CERN's Quantum Technologies Initiative, phase 2 (QTI-2). In this role you will be in charge of the deployment of:
- A high precision Time and Frequency distribution network for CERN and the connections to National Metrology Institutes in Europe.
- Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) equipment and testing of new distribution protocols and technologies.

Eligibility criteria:
- You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.
- You have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in Quantum Technologies, Physics, Metrology (or a related field) by the application deadline.
- Your highest educational qualification is either a Bachelor's or Master's degree.
- You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
- Applicants without University degree are not eligible.
- Applicants with a PhD are not eligible.
