As a Mechanical Design Engineer within the Engineering Department, you will supervise the transport and handling aspects of the High Intensity ECN3 (HI-ECN3) project. You will be in charge of the:

  • 3D modelling in Catia the environment and the handling operations
  • Definition and the design of handling tooling
  • Follow up of the suppliers during the manufacturing phase
  • Follow up of the project: planning, resources, implementation of the proposed tooling and methods with the handling teams

Your profile

Skills and/or knowledge

  • Proficient knowledge of a 3D drafting software (Catia, SolidWorks, Inventor etc.)
  • Ability to prepare mechanical calculation notes to be submitted to safety actors
  • Proficient in mechanical calculations with Ansys
  • Fluent in English, the ability to work in French would be an advantage.

Eligibility criteria:

  • You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.
  • You have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in Mechanical Engineering (or a related field) by the application deadline.
  • Your highest educational qualification is either a Bachelor's or Master's degree.
  • You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
  • Applicants without University degree are not eligible.
  • Applicants with a PhD are not eligible.
