Job Description

We are looking for a UX Research Lead to oversee and evolve our in-house UX research team supporting Witcher and Cyberpunk franchises. As a UX Research Lead, you will spearhead our efforts to keep the player experience at the core of our game development process. Your leadership will ensure that our game design decisions are informed by robust and strategic research insights. You will collaborate with product managers, data analysts, UX designers, game designers, developers, and studio leaders to champion UX research that connects deeply with our player base and addresses the most crucial design challenges in the genre of story driven open world role playing games. Daily Responsibilities

  • Overseeing  and contributing to the creation and execution of comprehensive UX research plans across multiple parallel game projects.
  • Managing and mentoring a team of UX researchers, setting clear goals and ensuring high-quality research output.
  • Coordinating with various development teams to integrate UX research at multiple stages of the product development cycle.
  • Synthesising research findings into strategic insights that drive design and development decisions.
  • Ensuring research methods and practices are innovative, efficient, and aligned with industry standards.
  • Leading the prioritisation of research projects based on development needs and resource availability.
  • Representing UX research findings to executive stakeholders, providing actionable recommendations and advocating for user-centred design principles.

Qualifications

Must have

  • 7+ years of experience in game user research (GUR), including a leadership role managing a research team or leadership equivalent.
  • Advanced proficiency in both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies.
  • Proven strong skills in behavioural analysis and statistical methods.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate research findings into actionable design and development strategies.

Other relevant qualifications

  • In-depth understanding of the game development cycle and experience with Agile methodologies.
  • Exceptional communication skills with proven ability to build and maintain relationships across all levels of an organisation.
  • Deep passion for game design and an innovative mindset to challenge the status quo and push the boundaries of user research.
  • Proven experience leading multidisciplinary and multicultural teams.
  • Strong business acumen with a thorough understanding of the gaming industry.

Nice to have
(Please note that these skills are not required to apply for the position)

  • MSc or PhD degree in Human Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, Cognitive Psychology, Cognitive Science, or related field.

Working mode
