The Molasses Flood is the newest member of the CD PROJEKT group, and is located in Boston, MA. We were founded by industry veterans in 2014, and since then have created The Flame in the Flood and Drake Hollow. The Molasses Flood is accepting applicants for the role of Senior or Principal Tools Engineer. This Engineer will work across disciplines to create tools that assist content creators and developers in being more efficient and effective in their work. The Tools Engineer will examine and optimize the work pipeline and build system, documenting as they go. The person in this role will report to the Technical Director.

This is a full time position. Senior and mid level developers may work remotely within the continental US, or hybrid (Tues/Thurs in our office in the Boston area, and other 3 days per week WFH). Relocation assistance is available.

Responsibilities 

• Work with content creators to assess their tools needs, and to assist them in utilization of tool assets

• Create, update and manage tools for pipeline management, build automation, art and animation

• Suggest new tools and technologies to assist in our development workflows

• Document the use of in-house tools or additional integrated technologies

• Experience in Unreal Engine 4 / 5

• Proficient with C++

• At least 5 years in the game industry with at least 2 years specializing as a Tools Engineer

• Strong communication, documentation and problem solving skills

• A customer oriented work ethic

• Curiosity, kindness, and a positive and professional can-do attitude

• Candidates must have a US work permit or citizenship

Nice to Haves

• Prior experience on a released a AAA title

• Experience with a scripting language or system, such as Blueprint, Python, MEL

• Experience with Maya, Visual Studio, C#
