Job Description
The Molasses Flood is accepting applicants for the role of Senior or Principal Tools Engineer. This Engineer will work across disciplines to create tools that assist content creators and developers in being more efficient and effective in their work. The Tools Engineer will examine and optimize the work pipeline and build system, documenting as they go. The person in this role will report to the Technical Director.
This is a full time position. Senior and mid level developers may work remotely within the continental US, or hybrid (Tues/Thurs in our office in the Boston area, and other 3 days per week WFH). Relocation assistance is available.
Responsibilities
Work with content creators to assess their tools needs, and to assist them in utilization of tool assets
Create, update and manage tools for pipeline management, build automation, art and animation
Suggest new tools and technologies to assist in our development workflows
Document the use of in-house tools or additional integrated technologies
Qualifications
Experience in Unreal Engine 4 / 5
Proficient with C++
At least 5 years in the game industry with at least 2 years specializing as a Tools Engineer
Strong communication, documentation and problem solving skills
A customer oriented work ethic
Curiosity, kindness, and a positive and professional can-do attitude
Candidates must have a US work permit or citizenship
Nice to Haves
Prior experience on a released a AAA title
Experience with a scripting language or system, such as Blueprint, Python, MEL
Experience with Maya, Visual Studio, C#
